Dr.Glenn Finnell & Dr. Genye Hawkins
Dr. Glenn Finnell and Dr. Genye Hawkins met while attending school at Auburn University School of Veterinary medicine. After graduation in 1981, they married and moved to Orlando to begin their practices. They opened South Orlando Animal Hospital in 1985. They have one son, Michael, and a variety of pets including dogs, cats and an occasional stray reptile or wild furry creature.
Dr. Marcia Cushing is a 1979 graduate of Ohio State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the SOAH staff in 1991 after practicing medicine in the Orlando area for several years. She enjoys a large variety of pets including Chip, the office clown, cats, rabbits and chickens.
Dr. Nancy Mingle is a 1986 graduate of Tuskegee University, College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined the SOAH staff in August 2000 after practicing in the Crescent City and East Palatka area since 1987. She has one daughter. Her pets are Daisy, a terrier mix and Tootsie the cat.
Dr. Dowst is a 2018 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach, baking and spending time with her boyfriend and dog.
We are pleased to announce the newest member of our staff, Dr. Casad! He is a 2020 graduate of Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He and his wife, Rebekah, fell in love with Central Florida during the five years they spent working for Walt Disney World Entertainment before he went to veterinary school, and they are excited to be back! In his spare time he enjoys college football, reality competition shows, playing piano, and keeping up with his toddler, James, his cat, Baxter, and his dog, Lia.
